Earlier this week, Huawei unveiled the P30 and P30 Pro with Kirin 980 and 40MP Huawei SuperSpectrum camera. But not many knew that that flagship smartphone also brought with it a new software feature. The P30 series runs on Huawei’s latest EMUI 9.1 interface and with that comes the all-new GPU Turbo 3.0 which offers enhanced optimisation of games and support for more games in the process.
The third iteration of GPU Turbo comes through EMUI 9.1 which is based on Google’s Android 9 Pie and currently only runs on the Huawei P30 series smartphones. Huawei says GPU Turbo 3.0 can bring down the power consumption of the Chipset by 10 percent and this offers better optimisation continuously for the long run, reports XDA-Developers.
The latest version of GPU Turbo will also improve touch response, reduce frame drops and output higher frame rate in contrast to it being switched off.
While GPU Turbo 2.0 included support for up to six games, GPU Turbo 3.0 extends the optimised games support to 19 more titles. This means the latest GPU Turbo will make these games run faster and smoother including:
FIFA Mobile
Fortnite
Crazy Taxi
PES2019
DRAGON BALL LEGENDS
Subway Surfers
Plants vs. Zombie Heroes
NBA 2K19
Knives Out
Battle Bay
Real Racing 3
Speed Drifters
Into the Dead 2
Minecraft
Helix
Brawl Stars
Dragon Nest M
Duel Links
Free Fire
This expands the support for optimised games to a total of 25 which previously were limited to PUBG Mobile, NBA 2K18, Arena of Valor, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Vainglory and Rules of Survival.
EMUI 9.1 with GPU Turbo 3.0 is currently only available on the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro, but judging by the company’s history, we can expect the technology to come to Huawei and Honor’s lower-end smartphones. We believe so because the Honor 7X, Honor Play and Honor 9 Lite were all seeded with GPU Turbo in the past.
