As The Mobile Indian had reported earlier Huawei is all set to launch the Android Jelly Bean based Ascend Mate next week in India for a price tag of around Rs 29,000.
Sources familiar with the development said to The Mobile Indian, “Huawei was expected to launch Ascend Mate this week but now it has been postponed to next week. Apart from that company will send out the media invite for the launch in next couple of days.”
Huawei Ascend Mate has a whopping 6.1 inch HD display screen, 2 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded to 32 GB via a microSD card. Ascend Mate features a quad core Processor running at 1.5 GHz. Along with that the phablet will have Huawei’s Emotion user interface, that will give the device’s home screen a new look.
On the camera front Huawei Ascend Mate has an 8 Megapixel rear camera with 1080p video recording capability and a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera.
Another major feature of Ascend Mate is its massive 4050 mAh battery, which the company claims will provide up to two days of backup on a single recharge. This phablet can also double up as a power bank for charging other phones using a cable.
Huawei Ascend Mate will have a micro SIM slot and the keyboard that will support right or left orientation for single-handed operation. Another feature that has been added to the device will allow someone using Mate to access the device even while wearing gloves.
Of late we have seen a couple of Indian handset players and Samsung launching phablets with screen size around 6 inches and it needs to be seen if this new screen of phablets will start a new trend.
