At the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Huawei unveiled the Ascend Mate 2 4G. It is the updated version of Huawei Ascend Mate which was launched in June last year. Though Huawei has not revealed anything about the availability of the phone, a person familiar with the development told The Mobile Indian that the phone will be launched in India in April this year.
“Huawei Ascend Mate 2 4G will be launched in India around April and will be priced at around Rs 30,000,” the person told The Mobile Indian. No further details were shared except that India is in the first league of countries for which the shipment will start dispatching from somewhere in March.
Like its predecessor, Huawei Ascent Mate, Ascend Mate2 4G also has a 6.1-inch IPS screen and a big 4050 mAh battery. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5 Megapixel front camera.
On the Processor front Huawei Ascend Mate 2 4G features a quad-core 1.6 GHz Snapdragon 400 processor which is supported by 2 GB RAM and 16 GB of internal storage which can be extended using a micro SD card. Mate 2 runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Most importantly, it supports TD LTE network on which Indian operator will be offering 4G services. Besides, it has regular connectivity features like Bluetooth and WiFi.
According to the press statement issued by Huawei, the Ascend Mate 2 4G is 9.5 mm thick and comes with Huawei’s Proprietary Emotion UI 2.0 which has done away with App drawer (app menu button) and has put everything on the home screens. This means whatever you downloaded will be placed on one of the home screens.
