Months after unveiling the Vive Focus Plus standalone VR headset with 6-DoF Controllers, HTC has announced the Vive Pro Eye VR headset with eye-tracking technology and Dynamic Training. The Pro Eye VR headset comes for a price of $1,599(approx. Rs 1,11,000).
The HTC Vive Pro Eye features dual OLED panels with a Resolution of 2,880 x 1,600 pixels with Tobii eye-tracking hardware and foveate rendering support. The VR headset comes with two hand controllers and two tracking base stations of last year. Developers will be able to make apps and software to control the movement of the eyes and apply the technology to move cursors and select items.
The Vive Pro Eye also comes with Dynamic Training Environments for simulating real-life scenarios and providing users with intelligent performance feedback. The headset will be able to capture real-time user feedback through heat-mapping and gaze-tracking for gaining insight into a user’s behaviour and decision processes.
The inbuilt gaze-orientated menu navigation will also minimise the need for controllers for regular operation and offer better interactions when using VR arcades or location-based entertainment.
The HTC Headset comes alongside a USB 3.0 cable, DisplayPort cable, link box, earphone parts, cleaning solution and a power adapter inside the box.
The HTC Vive Pro Eye VR Headset will be available for an asking price of $1,599(approx. Rs 1,11,000).
