Just months after launching the U11 Plus in India, Taiwan-based HTC seems to be gearing up for the launch of yet another flagship as we look at leaked pictures of a device that surfaced online. According to the nine images that popped up on the internet, the HTC U12 Plus as it claims to be will come with a taller, narrower 18:9 screen with two dual camera systems on the back and front of the device.
It’s a relief to see that the HTC U12+ will not rock a notch at the top which seems to be the trend lately for providing users with a larger screen to work with. Instead, the company has gone the route of LG G6 opting for a tall display with minimal bezels to keep the phone secure and protected from bumps. The front side of the device also packs a surprise as it comes with a dual camera shooter for enhanced selfies placed adjacent to the in-ear speaker.
On the back, the U12 Plus adorns Corning Gorilla Glass 5 panel with a mirror-like finish which houses yet another dual camera setup still aligned horizontally. The camera module accompanies the dual LED flash and the fingerprint scanner that’s placed beneath while we can also see a laser Autofocus system on the left side of the sensors.
Onto the frame of the device, the U12 Plus looks like another phone from the recent years with the power and volume rockers installed on the right while the left EDGE adopts a SIM card slot. The phone has let go of the Headphone jack as we only see a USB-C port and speaker on the bottom of the device.
In terms of specifications, the HTC U12 Plus is expected to come featuring Snapdragon 845 with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, though the device might come with other configurations as well. The HTC flagship will ship with the latest Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and we could see the U12 Plus out on the shelves within July.
