HTC is all set to roll out the Android 7.0 Nougat update for its flagship device HTC 10 and two mid-range devices HTC One A9 and One M9+ in India. The company has confirmed on Twitter that “Android 7.0 Nougat update coming soon†on the above-mentioned devices.
Previously, the company has started rolling out Android Nougat update for its One A9 smartphone in the US starting from January 16. Mo Versi, HTC’s VP of Product Management, confirmed on Twitter that the rollout of Nougat for the unlocked version of the A9 sold in the US will start rolling out yesterday.
However, the company has halted the Android Nougat update for its flagship device, the HTC 10, due to some bugs. According to multiple reports, certain prominent bugs had crept into the Nougat update, which is why the company has opted to halt the rollout to fix the bugs. The company is slated to restart the latest update within the next 3 weeks and it will come with January security patches.
To recall, the company launched HTC One A9 in India for Rs 29,990. The HTC One A9 comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with HTC Sense UI on top, the 64 bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 octa core processor and 2 GB RAM. It has 32 GB of inbuilt storage as well as an expandable storage slot that can hold a 2 TB micro SD card. The HTC One A9 is a single SIM device with a 2150 mAh battery while the Dual-SIM Desire 828 offers a 2800 mAh battery.
The One A9 has a 5 inch full HD display and comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera that has f/2.0 aperture, autofocus, BSI sensor, optical image stabilisation and full HD video recording ability. It offers an HTC UltraPixel (4 MP) front camera that comes with f/2.0 aperture, fixed focus and full HD video recording ability. One A9 also offers Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi (b/g/n/ac), micro USB port, 3.5 mm jack, 4G connectivity and GPS with GLONASS.
