Taiwanese smartphone maker, HTC is working on a smart watch with Android operating system and a camera that would allow it to take pictures, according to Bloomberg which claimed to have been tipped off by a person familiar with the developments.
As per the source, HTC is yet to decide on other features and price of the smart watch which is to be launched by the second half of 2014. As expected, HTC has not reacted to the report.
As of now only Sony and Samsung have launched their smart watches. Sony was first to launch the accessories; in 2012, it launched first such gadget called Sony SmartWatch, and thus created the nomenclature. But it took almost a year for Samsung to launch a similar gadget called Samsung Galaxy Gear. Sony had also this year announced its second smart watch called SmartWatch 2.
Meanwhile, LG, Google, Apple, and even Microsoft are said to be working on smart watch like devices.
