HTC has rolled out Android 4.2.2 update for its HTC Butterfly smartphone, which was unveiled last year but was made available in India earlier this year. Along with the new operating system the smartphone also gets the popular HTC BlinkFeed.
The BlinkFeed interface consists of tiles in the home screen, similar to what is seen in Windows OS based smartphones that update feeds automatically from mail, calendar and social media. The upgrade has been announced and will soon be making its way to the users in the coming days.
The HTC Butterfly features a 5-inch Super LCD 3 display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. The display is made of Corning Gorilla Glass 2. The HTC Butterfly is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 (Krait) mobile processor running at 1.5 GHz and Adreno 320 graphics chip. The smartphone carries 2 GB of RAM for smooth performance and has a 16 GB of integrated memory (11 GB user available) which can be further upped to up to 32 GB via a micro SD card.
HTC has used an 8 Megapixel camera with image stabilization, auto focus, LED flash, and a Backside Illumination Sensor along with HTC’s own ImageChip. The camera can also be used to record full 1080p HD videos and one can also capture 6 megapixel photos while recording the video simultaneously. HTC has also added Smart Flash that enables five levels old brightness intensity for the flash. In its front, there is a 2.1 megapixel camera which is capable of recording full 1080p videos at 30 frames per second.
