Taiwan based handset maker, HTC Corporation may soon come out with an exclusive game store for users. HTC has filed a trademark with the US patent and trademark office on May 24 relating to a service known as the HTC Play. Although no official comment has come from HTC yet but it is expected that HTC Play will be a unique, one of a kind service related to video games or gaming.
HTC in the past has also revealed some information about its services related to a dedicated audio service.
With the HTC play, as per the information in the trademark posted by Pocketnow.com, the service will not just be providing service to smartphones only but also to tablets, notebooks and personal computers as well.
Google Android, which started as a unified operating system, has already started showing up segregation which is being done by manufacturers largely. HTC also has a service called the HTC Like which is a popular alternative to the Android Marketplace, and HTC Play may become the part of same strategy and that is to create an exclusive service for customers while making a revenue source out of it.
There is only a speculation in the smartphone market that, considering the ongoing smartphone and tablet boom, this service might get a go sooner than anticipated.
