HTC has just launched the new One M8 flagship smartphone with Duo camera and refined design. While the company is working to make it available in several countries, the plans for upcoming major devices slip out online. HTC will repeat the smartphone portfolio offering just like last year by introducing the HTC One M8 mini and One Max successor phablet codenamed HTC Ace.
Swedish Telecom Operator Telia accidentally listed HTC One M8 mini along with other HTC devices in the list of smartphones getting HD Voice feature. However, the post was later edited to remove all HTC phones from the list.
HTC One M8 mini will be the direct successor of the HTC One mini smartphone and obviously bear the design cues of the One M8. Purported specifications of the HTC One M8 mini include a 4.7-inch HD touchscreen display and powered by qua-core 1.4 Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 mobile Chipset hooked with 1 GB RAM.
HTC will pack 16 GB on-board storage with Memory card slot in the One M8 mini. Apart from that, the smartphone will sport a 13 Megapixel camera at the back and 5 megapixel camera in the front. Since this smartphone is expected later this year, it will come with HTC Sense 6.0 layered on top of Android 4.4.2 KitKat version. Just like the One M8, the mini will also feature the on-screen buttons instead of capacitive menu buttons.
HTC One M8 mini handset will obviously compete with the expected Samsung Galaxy S5 mini and Sony Xperia Z2 compact models. HTC One mini is a decent mini version of smartphone but is bit costly to pocket.
