Two HTC Nexus devices HTC S1 “Sailfish” and HTC M1 “Marlin” are to be launched this year. Recently, HTC Marlin and HTC Sailfish specs leaked online. Now Android Police has got its hands on a mock up image of the upcoming device. However the image is not officially launched by HTC or Google and the source claims as its “own recreation of the upcoming Nexus phones based on evidence from a reliable source.” As per the leak, the upcoming smartphones could offer similar design same, with the only difference being the size.
The image has revealed the design and features of the phones showing that the home button will come in a solid white design. It shows that the Nexus devices won’t sport a camera bump, and the top of the back could be made out of glass or plastic. On the front, the phones will feature earpiece speaker, Sensors and front-facing cameras. It shows a metal body and the G from Google in the back. The camera has three holes next to it, which could be auto focus and secondary sensor. The top of the back also shows that there is a fingerprint scanner.
The image by Android Police shows a black and dark gray color variants but the phones can actually be released in different color options.
As per earlier rumors, HTC M1 Martin features a big 5.5-inch QHD display with 2560×1440 pixel resolution, Qualcomm Snapdragon (either 820 or 821) 1.59 GHz quad core processor, 4GB of RAM, 32 or 128GB of storage, latest Android 7.0 Nougat version operating system and a 3,450 mAh battery. It features a 12 megapixel rear camera and an 8 megapixel front camera. The handset will feature a fingerprint scanner on the back, bottom firing speakers, Bluetooth 4.2 and a Type C USB port.
The S1 Sailfish is expected to come with a 5-inch full HD display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and 440ppi pixel density. Reportedly it will come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 Chipset which has a 64-bit 2.0 GHz quad-core processor, 4GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage. HTC Sailfish features rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and USB-C port at the bottom with a top mounted Headphone jack. The handset has support for Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity and is backed by a 2,770 mAh battery. It features a 12 megapixel rear camera and an 8 megapixel front camera.
Currently it is not know that when the two devices will be made official but as per some reports, the HTC Marlin and Sailfish will be officially announced sometime between September and October. So stay tuned till then.
