HTC going big for the HTC 11? A bezel-less display, Snapdragon 835 and 8GB of RAM

Rumours have it that the upcoming flagship device from HTC will sport a Quad HD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and a whopping 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

HTC 11 might not be on the calendar for a launch anytime soon, but that hasn’t stopped the rumours from swirling around the device specs, now expected to pack in the biggest, fastest, largest of everything.

According to a post on Chinese microblogging site Weibo, the device will come with a 5.5-inch Quad display with a screen of 2560×1440 pixels. Moreover, the leaked image also hints that the device might sport a bezel-less display, a rumour we have also heard about Samsung’s next flagship device, the Galaxy S8.

On the hardware front, the device is rumoured to come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 coupled with Adreno 540 GPU. And if the rumours come true, then the company might incorporate a whopping 8GB of RAM, making it the first smartphone to boast such a large memory. And this is not it, the company might also add 256GB of internal storage, making it a godsend for people strapped or space or anxious about running out of it. With such heavy duty specs, a dual-camera setup is a given we reckon, and the next flagship device would sport dual 12-megapixel sensors, while for the front, there would be an 8-megapixel camera.

HTC has always faced criticism in terms of lower battery capacity used in the smartphones, but the recent leak suggests that the company might add look to address that too with a 3700mAh battery with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4.0, that should provide keep the handset well powered. The device will come with 7.0 Nougat pre-installed along with HTC’s Sense 8 UI. The phone is expected to be launched sometime in 2017 and might come with a price tag of $691 (approx. Rs 46710).

It is a well-known fact that HTC is going through a tough time, as it has been struggling to keep up with the competition. The company recently posted a loss of $133 million in the third quarter, sparking speculation that it might be looking to sell its smartphone division. Delivering a hit under such circumstances would certainly help the firmto quell doubts about its future in smartphones Especially with models like Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6 coming in.
