HTC revealed the HTC One A9 which you might misunderstood as an iPhone on the basis of its looks and design. At the launch of the A9, HTC made a statement saying that the One A9 will receive Android Nougat update within 15 days of its official release. However, if you own a One A9 and are eagerly waiting for the update within a week, here is some bad news for you.
In the latest tweet, HTC has revealed its Android Nougat update schedule and the 15-day update promise seems to be broken.
The first one to taste the latest Android 7.0 Nougat will be the HTC 10 which will receive the update sometime in fourth quarter of this year. The update is likely to come with the same Sense 8 skin with some minor tweaks and enhancements with additional features of Android Nougat. Following the HTC 10, unlocked versions of both One M9 and One A9 will receive the update (hopefully with Sense 8 on top).
Well this surely is a bummer for One A9 users who were promised timely updates. The reason behind the delay in updates is attributed to implementation of Android Nougat to Sense skin which takes time, claims HTC.
Nevertheless, HTC introduced this year’s flagship the HTC 10 back in April. Though HTC 10 is a flawless device still people are not buying it as much as HTC expected. One reason behind this can be Samsung’s Galaxy S7 which is selling in at a much cheaper price (around Rs 43,000) compared to HTC 10 (around Rs 53,000). Meanwhile, the company is reportedly planning to launch two more phones called HTC Desire 10 Pro and Lifestyle soon.
