HP Omen X 2S dual screen gaming laptop announced

The new HP Omen laptop comes with a 15-inch display that has a refresh rate of 144Hz and 1080p resolution. There’s a second 6-inch 1080p screen which offers touchscreen capability and similar functionality to the Touch Bar on Apple MacBooks and will allow users to watch Twitch streams and youtube while gaming.

Months after introducing the Spectre x360 and Spectre Folio in India, HP has now announced the HP Omen X 2S dual screen gaming laptop at the HP Gaming Festival in Beijing. This is the second laptop with a second-screen after Asus unveiled the ZenBook Pro 15 last year. The HP Omen X 2S will be available for a starting price of $2,099.99 (approx. Rs 1,47,500).

The new HP Omen laptop comes with a 15-inch display that has a of 144Hz and 1080p resolution. There’s a second 1080p screen which spans as much as 6-inch and offers touchscreen capability. The secondary screen offers similar functionality to the Touch Bar on Apple MacBooks and will allow users to watch Twitch streams and youtube while gaming on the larger screen.

There’s one compromise as the presence of the second screen means the trackpad is now moved to the right side of the bottom, next to the full-fledged keyboard.

As far as specs go, the OMEN X 2S can be powered to up to a ninth-generation Intel Core i9 processor, up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 graphics, up to 2TB of SSD storage, and up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM. The gaming laptop will use three-sided betting for thermal throttling and can enable a five-way airflow.

The Omen X 2S is housed inside a 20mm chassis and features a backlit keyboard that has RGB lighting. Users can also customise RGB lights on both the keyboard and the Omen logo.

The HP Omen X 2S dual screen gaming laptop will be available for a starting price of $2,099.99 (approx. Rs 1,47,500).
