Hewlett Packard (HP) has unveiled its latest Windows 10 two-in-one tablet, named as Envy Note 8, at an event in Barcelona, Spain. The tablet also come with optional 10-inch HP ENVY Note Bluetooth Keyboard Folio, which has a aluminum body along with 89 x 34mm click-pad and a slot designed to hold the tablet in place in either landscape or portrait modes.
The HP Envy Note 8 is expected to be available in the USA through company’s website and select retailers from November 8, 2015 onwards. Starting price for the tablet and stylus is $329 (approx Rs 21,399). The tablet, stylus and keyboard combo available for $429 (approx Rs 27,908).
HP Envy Note 8 features an 8-inch full HD (1920 ×1080 pixels) IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by a 1.44 GHz (up-to 1.84 GHz in turbo mode) Intel Atom x5-Z8300 Processor paired with 2GB RAM and Intel HD GPU. The device runs on Windows 10 operating system out of the box.
It comes with 32 GB of internal storage which is further expandable up-to 64 GB via microSD card. The battery capacity is unknown, though claims to offer talktime of 6.25 hours. The Envy Note 8 sports an 5-megapixel auto focus rear camera and a 2-megapixel front front facing camera for selfies and video calling. It also has B&O Play to enhance video conference, music, or movie experience.
On the connectivity front, the HP Envy Note 8 offers 4G, micro SIM card slot, WiFi 802.11 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, USB OTG. Besides this, HP Envy 8 Note also includes HP Instant Note App which sync with the stylus that allows user to write notes by simply pressing the pen button. Company claims that, HP Instant Note captures content and embeds links to webpages eliminating extra copy and paste steps. The note is automatically saved in OneNote and can be accessed via HP Notes Hub, a timeline view to access content and events.
