Honor has announced the launch of its second Water-resistant tablet in China. Dubbed as Honor WaterPlay 8, the new tablet comes with a price tag of 1499 Yuan (approx Rs 15,899) for 64GB WiFi variant, 1899 Yuan (approx Rs 21,000) for 128GB WiFi variant, while the 64GB LTE option is priced at 1799 Yuan (approx. Rs 19,100).
The major highlight of the tablet is the IP67 rating. The tablet comes loaded with an 8-inch WXGA display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. The tablet is powered by an octa-core Kirin 659 Processor along with Mali T830-MP2 GPU. It will be available in WiFi and LTE versions.
It is backed by a 6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of internal storage. The memory can be further expanded up to 256GB via microSD card slot. For optics, the Honor WaterPlay employs a dual-camera setup at the rear with a combination of a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, a 2-megapixel secondary lens with f/2.4 aperture. For the front, there is an 8-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture.
The new Honor WaterPlay tablet is backed by a 5100mAh battery with Fast charging support via 9V- 2A charger. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with company’s in-house EMUI 8.1 running on top of it. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, GLONASS, USB Type-C and NFC. The device measures 248 x 173 x 7.8mm and weighs 465 grams.
