Huawei’s sub-brand Honor might be working on the successor of its widely-famous Honor 8, as the smartphone has been spotted on the Chinese electronics regulatory agency, TENAA. The device carries a model number of DUK-TL30, and the listing reveals some vital information about the design, specs and features of the upcoming device.
The listing reveals the successor of Honor 8 aka Honor 9 will come with a 5.7-inch QHD display with a screen Resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. To give you a better perspective Honor 8 sports a 5.2-inch full HD display. Under the hood, the device is powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 2.4GHz, though there is no mention of the chipset. This probably could mean that the company will use the powerful Kirin 960 processor in the upcoming device. The phone is backed by a 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.

Further, the images posted on TENAA confirms a dual-camera module at the rear panel, which will come with a combination of 12-megapixel and 2-megapixel sensors. The fingerprint sensor also sits at the back. The device will be juiced by a 3,900mAh battery and will run on Android 7.0 Nougat. The smartphone measures 157 × 77.5 × 6.97mm and weighs 184 grams.

Honor is also expected to launch the Honor 6X in India on January 24th. The device was earlier introduced during CES 2017 event and comes with a 5.5-inch (1080×1920 pixels) full-HD IPS display with 2.5D curved glass protection. On the inside, the device is powered by a Kirin 655 octa-core (4 cores at 2.1GHz + 4 cores at 1.7GHz) Chipset with Mali-T830MP2 GPU paired with 3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage or 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage. In both the cases, the internal storage is expandable via microSD card.
Coming to the optics, which is the highlight of this device, the Honor 6X sports a dual-camera set up at the back with a combination of a 12-megapixel sensor and a 2-megapixel sensor. The set up comes with phase detection Autofocus (PDAF), LED flash etc. At the front, there is an 8-megapixel sensor for selfies.
The rear camera setup on the Honor 6X is more like the one we saw in HTC One M8. The set up lets you dig into and play with shallow depth of field and one can change the focus of an image post clicking it. For the juice, there is a 3340 mAh battery inside.
