Honor 6X which was launched last month in India and went on sale yesterday exclusively via Amazon India for Rs 12,999 (3GB RAM variant)is all set to get Android 7.0 Nougat update next month. As per an Android Police report, Huawei has confirmed that the update will begin rolling out for the device in March 2017.
The statement which Android Police reported read – “The new EMUI for Honor 6X will be arriving next month, and it’s been updated based on consumer feedback. In case you or your team is planning a full review anytime soon, it might be worthwhile to wait!”

With Android Nougat update comes all the new features such as split-screen multiwindow, enhanced notification panel, doze on the go for battery, screen dpi customisations, improved recent menu etc.
Android Nougat update for Honor 6X will also bring the all new EMUI 5.0. Launched with company’s flagship, Mate 9, EMUI in itself is a pretty solid upgrade from EMUI 4.1 on which Honor 6X runs. Lastly, to brief out the specifications for Honor 6X, the device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with EMUI v4.1 on top. Other than that, it comes with a 5.5-inch (1080×1920 pixels) full-HD IPS display with 2.5D curved glass protection. On the inside, the device is powered by a Kirin 655 octa-core (4 cores at 2.1GHz + 4 cores at 1.7GHz) Chipset with Mali-T830MP2 GPU paired with 3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage or 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage. In both the cases, the internal storage is expandable via microSD card.
Coming to the optics, which is the highlight of this device, the Honor 6X sports a dual-camera setup at the back with a combination of a 12-megapixel sensor and a 2-megapixel sensor. The set up comes with phase detection Autofocus (PDAF), LED flash etc. At the front, there is an 8-megapxel sensor for selfies. The rear camera setup on the Honor 6X is more like the one we saw in HTC One M8. The set up lets you dig into and play with shallow depth of field and one can change the focus of an image post clicking it. For the juice, there is a 3340 mAh battery inside.
