After Instagram, India’s own Hike Messenger has today released an update wherein it has introduced a feature similar to Snapchat Stories or Instagram Stories. And not surprising at all, it has been named ‘Hike Stories’. Not only this, Hike has gone one step ahead and even included Live Camera Filters just like Snapchat. The update has been rolling out for both Android and iOS platforms.
Kavin Mittal, Founder and CEO of Hike Messenger, said – “Stories is a new way for people on Hike to share their lives and real moments with their friends through photos and videos,”
Just like Snapchat or Instagram, Hike Stories lets you share your raw moments with your friends via photos and videos which will disappear after 48 hours. On Snapchat or even on Instagram, this duration is 24 hours. Further, one can easily find how many users and who all have viewed your story. Of the 12 filters available, one includes where you can swap your face with the face of Mr Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India.
Hike Stories were made possible because of the inclusion of an inbuilt camera app with an ability to add stickers as well.
“One of our goals for 2016 has been to bring photos at the centre of Hike and Stories and Live Filters, we are doing just that. I really believe camera is the new keyboard,” – he added.
The introduction of Hike Stories means we bid adieu to Hike Timeline where all the recent activities like photos, status etc. from your friend were listed.
Recently, just a day after WhatsApp introduced video calling to its beta version, Hike rolled out a server update to add the video calling functionality as well. Before Hike Messenger, Facebook added the Stories feature to Instagram and now WhatsApp is also working on a new Status feature similar to Snapchat Stories.
