Indian PC maker, HCL has launched three more tablets, including a dual SIM tablet called ME Y3. The other two tablets are called HCL ME V1 and HCL ME U2.
All the three tablets are based on Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and have a 7 inch screen with 1 GHz processor. The basic difference is their connectivity options.
While the ME Y3 is a dual SIM tablet, the HCL V1 has only a single SIM slot. The U2 is a WiFi only tablet but can access 3G through a USB data card as well. In V1, one can also use a dongle to access 3G apart from the internet access through its SIM card. In Y3 there is no dongle support.
HCL ME Y3:
This is the costliest among the three with a price tag of Rs 11,999. It has a 7 inch touchscreen with 1024×600 pixel resolution. It comes with dual SIM with dual standby feature as well. There are two cameras in HCL ME Y3 – a 2 Megapixel camera is in the back panel while a 0.3 megapixel camera is in the front.
The HCL Y3 has a Cortex A9 processor, clocked at 1 GHz. It has also a healthy 1 GB DDR3 RAM, Mali 400 graphics processing unit, Android ICS operating system and 4 GB of internal storage. You can add up to 32 GB through a micro SD card. It has a 3100 mAh battery as well. Besides, the tablet comes with mini HDMI and mini USB ports as well.
HCL ME V1:
Armed with 1 GB DDR3 RAM, the HCL V1 comes with a 7 inch screen with 800x 480 resolution. Priced around Rs 7,999, the HCL V1 comes with Android ICS operating system, 1 GHz Cortex A8 processor, 4 GB internal storage, 32 GB expandable storage slot and a 3200 mAh battery. It has dual cameras – a 2 megapixel camera in the rear and a 0.3 megapixel camera in the front. Besides, it has WiFi, Micro USB port, and Bluetooth 3.0 for connectivity. It has no HDMI port.
HCL ME U2
The WiFi only HCL ME U2 comes with 0.3 megapixel front camera for video chats but it does not have any rear camera. Armed with a 3000 mAh lithium-polymer battery, the U2 has 1 GB RAM also. Notably, it has access to Google Play Store unlike the other two despite the fact that it is the cheapest of the three with a price tag of Rs 5,999.
The HCL U2 has a 1 GHz ARM Cortex A9 processor, Mali 400 GPU, Android ICS operating system, mini HDMI port, mini USB port, 4 GB internal storage and 32 GB of expandable memory slot.
