Google is set to launch a bunch of devices on October 4 the most rumoured being the Pixel devices. Apart from that, the search engine giant is also expected to release previously announced Google Home, a VR headset, a Wi-Fi router, maybe an Android TV or Android wear devices and a new Chromecast. According to Android Police’s report, this year’s chromecast will come with the name Chromecast Ultra with Google branding instead of Chromecast logo.
The most interesting leak of the new chromecast is its ability to stream 4K content as compared to the regular chromecast which streams high definition content. While the last year’s chromecast sells at around $35, the Ultra will be launched at a price of around $69. The only reason behind such high pricing seems to be the ability to stream 4K content from smartphone to any HDMI equipped display.
The Chromecast Ultra will run on 1.21 firmware version which was just released in beta to Chromecast Preview program members.
Apart from the above mentioned information, not much is known up till now but we don’t have to wait long either as Google’s event is only a week away now.
