Google is set to launch the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) update on 19 October next week in Hong Kong. Andy Rubin, senior vice president for Android at Google, will be talking up the Android 4.0 ICS update followed by live demonstrations. The launch event will start at 10:00 AM in Hong Kong (8:00 AM IST) and the live stream can be watched at youtube.com/android.
Google was to launch Android 4.0 ICS on October 11 but the event was postponed to respect the demise of Apple’s former CEO Steve Jobs. Now the launch is taking place exactly after 7 days next week. Google has already created a new official Android account — twitter.com/Android and the event will be streamed live at youtube.com/android.
Samsung will also be present at the launch event and the next Google experience smartphone, officially branded as Galaxy Nexus with Android 4.0 ICS will be unveiled.
More than the Ice Cream Sandwich launch itself, several Android smartphone owners would be interested to know if their device would be getting the update or not.
