Google to sell Android tablets directly: Report

Google is mulling to launch an online store to sell Samsung and Asus made.

Online giant, Google will open its own online tablet store to sell tablets directly to consumers soon, according to reports. The maker of Android would offer tablets made by Samsung and Asus based on its Android operating system.
Google had in 2010 briefly sold its Nexus One smartphone directly to consumers but closed the store. Now it entirely depends on retail stores and carrier partners to sell Android based devices which are manufactured by a variety of makers including Samsung, LG, HTC etc.

Also, though has quickly gained the No 1 status in smartphone category, the tablet segment is still dominated worldwide by Apple’s iPad. The latest move is surely to push the sales of Android tablets.
Currently, Samsung has three Android tablets that includes Galaxy Tab 7.0, Galaxy Tab, Galaxy Tab 8.9 and Galaxy tab 10.1 while Asus makes Android based Eee Pad Transformer Prime, Eee Pad Transformer, and Eee Pad Slider tablets.
