There are multitudes of devices with different form factor, screen size and hardware that run on Android. Which means that developers having to develop applications for all these variations.
This phenomenon, called fragmentation, also means that certain application which works extremely well on one Android device doesn’t run properly on another version.
To address this problem, Google has released an Anti Fragmentation kit, using which applications can be developed that will work on all Android devices irrespective of the version of Android (1.6 to 3.0) or the screen size (from smallest to 10.1 inch tablet).
The new static library allows access to the Honeycomb Fragments API. Developers can access Android Compatibility Pack via the SDK Updater .
