Google’s next smartphone duo has been making a lot of news lately with rumours popping up almost every day. The latest in the bucket is about the price of the larger version of the two.
According to David Ruddock from Android Police, Google Pixel XL will be priced at $649 which interestingly is same as the iPhone 7. Though it’s not confirmed whether this price is of 32GB variant or 128GB variant of the Pixel XL.
Recently, there have been a lot of leaks relating to Google’s this year’s flagship smartphones. Earlier this week, a full 360 degree render of the Google Pixel (HTC Sailfish) was leaked by Android Authority.
The name Pixel was further confirmed due to the fact that the earlier released Nexus Launcher received an update with the name Pixel Launcher.
Pixel XL is expected to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor, 4 GB of RAM and a 12 megapixel rear facing camera with 4K video recording ability. Being the larger of the two, Pixel XL will feature a 5.5 inch display and will also sport a bigger battery to power up that bigger display. There is still doubt if it will have expandable storage or not, although chances are less.
On the other hand, the smaller variant i.e. Google Pixel will have the same internals except the battery and will sport a smaller 5.0 inch display.
Well, currently Nexus 6P 128GB sells at $649 so if Google is to launch the Google Pixel XL at the same price then we can expect the price drop for Nexus 6P soon.
Google is expected to launch the two devices on October 4 with pre-orders beginning that day itself. There is no information about its launch date or price for the Indian market.
