Google Nexus 7 2016, Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 rumours roundup

It will be difficult to choose between the two when they come out.

When it comes to Tablets, the two most sold has to be the Samsung Galaxy Tab and Nexus 7 from Google. Both these tablets were rumoured to be launched this year.

Nexus 7 and Tab S3

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 was first tipped to launch in June/July. When it missed that release period, rumours came out saying the company might well launch the tablet with the Galaxy Note 7. Further, some also suggested that IFA 2016 could be the Tab S3’s event. Despite missing all these release dates, Samsung still hasn’t confirmed anything about its next tablet. On the other hand, Google has also managed to not peep out the Nexus 7 2016. Though there have been a lot of rumours about the and Pixel XL, the Nexus 7 2016 hasn’t seen much of the attention so far. However, the latest rumours reveals that Google might unveil its next Nexus 7 on October 4 itself which is touted to be the release date of Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones.

Starting with the rumours of the Samsung Tab S3, the new tablet is likely to come in 8 inch and 9.7 inch AMOLED screen options with resolution. Inside, it is likely to sport Samsung’s own octa-core Exynos 8890 with 4GB RAM and internal storage of 32GB and 64GB. In some regions, the Tab S3 might come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset just as we saw in case of Galax7 S7 and Note 7. For photography, it is likely to offer an 8MP rear facing camera and 2 MP front camera. In the connectivity front, it will come with USB Type-C port. The Tab S3 is expected to run on Android Marshmallow but Android Nougat cannot be ruled out as the latest OS has been launched. The 8-inch variant is expected to feature a 4000 battery while the 9.7-inch variant is rumoured to feature a 5870 mAh battery. The price is tipped to be around $420 (about Rs 28,000) but expect a higher price tag for the Indian market.

Coming to the Nexus 7 2016, just as previous versions, the new Nexus 7 would likely to sport a 7-inch AMOLED Quad display. Inside, it might have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. Google is likely to put a 13MP rear camera with highly advance functionalities. The tablet is expected to have a big battery of 5100 mAh capacity as well as USB Type-C port which has Quick Charge 3.0 support. The tablet will run on Android 7.0 Nougat but there has been no rumours about the price so far. Also Google, might dump the name Nexus for this series of tablet as well.
