Google has released a new updated for the Google Maps app for the Android and iOS platform. The new Google Maps app update brings integration of Waze incidents for 46 new countries. Apparently, even the Waze app for Android and iOS been updated.
Google acquired the free mobile maps navigation service Waze in June this year and slowly started integrating the later’s features in Google Maps app. Back in August, Google had added real-time incident reports in Google Maps powered by Waze.
The Waze service also integrates user-reported data about incidents that could be accidents, road-blocks and diversions. These real-time incident reports help other Waze users to re-route their travel and reach to the destination by avoiding traffic jams.
The Google Maps app has integrated the real-time incident reporting powered by Waze for 46 more countries but there has been no listing of the countries included. This helps the Google Maps users to plan their travel and change routes based on the real-time incident reports.
The new Google Maps app update is available for Android from the Google Play store and for iOS from the Apple App store. Similarly, the Waze app update is available from the Google Play store for Android devices and Apple App store for iOS devices.
