Google introduces Quick Search option in Twitter

The search engine giant also introduced 4K resolution option for some select movie titles available on Google Play Movies.

In the latest update, Google has introduced an interesting feature for Twitteraties through which one can search for local results inside the Twitter itself. In order to do this, one needs to tweet an with @Google next to it post which the Twitter handle of Google will send-in the results via Tweet.

According to a report from Mashable, the search engine giant has reportedly worked on over 200 emoji interactions. As of now, the emoji search ranges from food such as Burger, Pizza joints to local activities happening nearby. For instance, just tweet a “Burger emoji @Google” and the twitter handle will then tweet you the link containing the search results with map listings. One should note that these results are strictly location based as indicated by Google’s Twitter handle with #KnowNearby.

Apart from search results, the Twitter handle also comes up with easter eggs. For example, entering the ‘Peach Emoji’ will give you the results for ‘bootylicious’ which is a song by Destiny’s Child. Similarly, if you enter Cow, Poop and Eggplant emoji’s, you will get some interesting results as well.

In other news, Google has finally rolled out option for select titles on Google Play Movies. The update was previously being tested in the United States and now the company has finally rolled out the update officially. As of now, the 4K option is only available for users residing in US and Canada. Further, the option has been extended to 125 movie titles using its own open source code codec VP9. The option is available for both rental and purchase purposes.

“You can purchase 4K movies on your device or on the Web and stream them on your Chromecast Ultra, your Sony Bravia Android TV, or your Xiaomi Mi Box 3,” – Google said in a blog post.

Though Google didn’t reveal about its plans to roll out this update in other countries, but, we hope it to be sooner rather than later. If you are a Google Play Movies user, which movie title will you buy if it comes with 4K resolution option.
