Android users get another reason to rejoice as Google has announced the official update of its Goggles application. The updated Google Goggle version 1.4 brings a couple of much awaited features including an enhanced search history facility that brings better results as compared to its previous version.

Goggles is a free search assistance service that lets users to use pictures, taken with mobile phone, to search the web. It’s ideal for things that aren’t easy to describe in words. Users do not need to type or speak their query. All that they require is to open the app, take a picture of the thing you want to search for and wait for your search results.

Apart from the speed and stability fixes which are common in every update of any application, the Goggles now brings features like personal note, search suggestion and improved Business card recognition as well.

With the Personal Note, users can add notes to the searches made and can view them in search history later on or can also share the same with friends with the help of a direct link.

If Goggles is not able to yield any result for a given image then now users have the option to suggest relevant keywords for search. Users can select the relevant part of the image and submit a tag. Tags will be used to improve recognition in object categories where Goggles provides search results.

The application will now feature better support and recognition for business cards. Instead of simply recognising the content as text, Goggles now recognises the information as a contact, making it easier to add to your phone’s contact list.

Users can download the latest Google Goggles application from the Marketplace or alternatively can click here or can also scan the QR code for the same.
