Google combines all its chat and IM services into Hangouts app

The app is for PCs, Android and Apple products is already available and brings truly unified communication with cross platform availability.

Google has announced a unified service called Hangouts that merges messaging platforms including Google Talk, Google+ Hangouts, Messenger and Google Talk for Google+ into one platform, at the Google I/O event in San Francisco.

The has been released for iOS, and for and allows users to share text, photos and live video with each other. Users will require a Google account to use the service, and also verifies your mobile number.

Functionally the app is similar to Hangouts in Google+, the app also replaces GTalk application. The app is already available in the Google Play store, but you are not able to access it, Google say’s that it will roll-out the app for everyone over the course of several days. The app is available for all Android devices with version 2.3 Gingerbread or above.

The service allows video chat with up to 10 people, you can share photo’s and emoji’s (emoti-cons of which 850+ are there now). The Hangout is available on Windows PCs, Android and Apple devices. We will soon test the app and come out with our review, so stay tuned
