Google has introduced a slew of new features for its virtual assistant on Wear OS platform. The company has announced new Google Assistant features like smart suggestions, ability to speak and Actions for Wear OS-powered smartwatches. The company will start rolling out these features over the next several days.
To begin with, the brand has introduced smart suggestions through users will be able to choose from contextually relevant follow up questions or queries on the smartwatch, which is similar to what we have in Google Assistant for Google Home or smartphones. So, for example, when you ask about the weather, you can see the weather now and then tap on a suggestion to see the extended forecast for the weekend.
Moving on, the company has also announced Actions with Google Assistant for Wear OS. Through this feature, users will able to ask Assistant to get directions, play movie trailer on TV, manage shopping lists, find food and drink, play games, set alarms, control car, make video calls, find stores, check local news and more. There are over 1 million Actions that users can use on their smartwatches, which are powered by Google’s Wear OS.
Apart from this, Google Assistant also get the ability to speak. For example, if you’re listening to music on your way to work, try asking the Google Assistant to “tell me about my day.” You’ll hear some helpful information, like your commute times and upcoming agenda, from your watch speaker or Bluetooth headphones.
