Google today revealed that Hindi language support on Google Assistant for Google Home smart speakers is rolling out in India. The company has revealed that the update is pushed to Home users starting from today.
In order to activate Hindi option for Google Assistant on Home speakers, users need to open the Google Home App on their smartphone and then tap the Account icon at the lower-right corner. Users then need to tap on Settings and search for the Assistant tab. They then select ‘Add a language’ and set ‘Hindi’ as the first language in the list’. Users can then just say “Ok Google” to start a conversation with their Assistant on Google Home and ask a question in Hindi.
The company has revealed a host of interesting features like one get quick answers from Google Assistant like planning commute, weather report, traffic or finance information. One can try questions like “दादर तक पहुँचने में कितना समय लगेगा?” or “माउंट एवरेस्ट कितनी ऊंची है?”.
One can also play their favourite music services like Google Play Musi and Gaana and can also listen to the latest news bulletins from popular Indian news sources such as The Times of India, NDTV, Dainik Bhaskar, India Today, Aaj Tak and more. One can ask questions like “बॉलीवुड के गाने चलाओ”, or “आज की खबर बताओ”.
Moreover, Google Home users can also control compatible smart home products with Hindi support. For instance, one can simply say “लाइटऑनकरो” for switching on the lights. One can also ask the assistant “क्या मेरी बैडरूम के लाइट्स ऑन है?” Apart from this, users can set a shopping list and get step-by-step instructions for making a recipe at home.
