Just as we reported earlier, Gionee has announced the launch of its latest flagship, the Elife S7, in India for Rs 24,999.
Gionee Elife S7 has a glass body made of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on both its front and back panel and it is just 5.5 mm thin. The frame inside this glass panel and the sides are said to be crafted in aviation level aluminum magnesium alloy. I will explain more about its appearance and design in our “hands on†later.
The Gionee Elife E7 looks exciting in terms of hardware and software as well. First of all, it offers the latest Android 5.0 operating system with Gionee’s new Amigo 3.0 UI. This OS runs on the Mediatek TRU Octa-core processor which has a clock speed of 1.7 GHz and 2 GB RAM. Note that only the 16 GB version of the phone (priced at Rs 24,999) has been launched in India. There are no expandable storage slot in the phone.
The S7 also has a big 2700 mAh battery that claims to be sufficient for this 5.2 inch display bearing smartphone for a whole day.
“The user interface has been optimized and the S7 features a unique extreme mode, which automatically enables 10 per cent of remaining battery power to potentially last for 33 hours 45 minutes Standby time by freezing functions except calling and text messages to ensure basic communications,†claims Gionee.
Note that this display has been made using Samsung’s Super AMOLED technology and it offers full high definition (1080p) resolution.
The S7 of Gionee also claims to be able to capture “stunning†images with a 13 Megapixel primary camera that is armed with Gionee’s self-developed ‘Image+’ image processing system. The S7’s 8 megapixel front camera also claims to be quite good with its intelligent Face beauty 3.0 technology.
For the music lovers the S7 comes with Hi-Fi level Headphone and claims to offer “superior sound quality with instinctive Hi-Fi standard sound system that features sound restorations bringing a home theatre system experience to an ultra slim phoneâ€.
Connectivity wise too the Gionee Elife S7 looks exciting with dual SIM, 4G (both SIMs). The S7 measures 139.8mmx67.4mmx5.5 mm and comes in Black, White, and Blue colours.
