Fujitsu Toshiba has announced world’s first Windows Phone 7.5 Mango based device — IS12T, for the Japan region. The new IS12T smartphone is waterproof (IPX5) and is mere 10.6mm thick.
Fujitsu Toshiba announced this device amidst the anticipation of Windows Phone 7.5 Mango update release from Microsoft. This is the first Windows Phone 7.5 Mango update running smartphone and many more are yet to come. There’s no word on the price and this phone will go on sale from September.
Slim Fujitsu Toshiba made IS12T smartphone features 3.7-inch WVGA (800×480) display. Under the hood it packs single core Qualcomm MSM8655 processor. Featuring 13.2-megapixel camera with autofocus, the IS12T handset comes with 32GB onboard memory.
Microsoft’s next major update for mobile phones — Windows Phone 7.5 Mango update will be pre-loaded on this handset. The Mango update promises over 500 improvements at multiple levels for the Windows Phone 7 devices.
Several new Windows Phone 7.5 Mango based devices are yet to launch from Microsoft’s handset partners such as HTC, LG, Samsung, Acer, Fujitsu, ZTE, Dell, and Nokia.
However, all eyes are set on the Nokia ‘Sea Ray’ handset that is set to arrive with Windows Phone 7.5 Mango update. There’s no word on official availability of the handsets.
Today, Microsoft formally announced that the Windows Phone 7.5 Mango build has reached the Release To Manufacture (RTM) stage. The final build of the Windows Phone 7.5 Mango will roll out soon if there are no major issues or bugs in the RTM build.
As promised earlier, Microsoft Windows Phone 7.5 build is set for release in September.
