Ford is reportedly planning to bring four new versions of its existing models. This include a revamped version of Aspire and Figo as well as an updated Endeavour and Mustang.
As per a report of Autocar, a revamped Ford Aspire sedan is due to come this June. The model is expected to have a all new front styling that would make it really different than the current model. Also expected is a new dashboard inside on the lines of Ford Freestyle.
Though the new Aspire is likely to retain the 100hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine, the petrol version is expected to get a 96hp, 1.2-litre, three-cylinder engine against the 88hp, four-cylinder 1.2 petrol engine of the older model. A petrol automatic model is also expected. The report further claimed that tweaks in suspension is also on cards.
In October, Ford is expected to come out with a remodelled Figo hatchback. The new Figo not only would have a new exterior, it is expected to get a whole new 1.2 liter petrol engine as well. Like the Aspire, the Figo too will be available with a torque converter automatic with the petrol engine, added the report.
Next in the list is the new Endeavour which is expected in early 2019. This new model has already been introduced in few international markets. The new model comes with a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine that offers 180hp of power and 420Nm torque in single turbo form, and 213hp and 500Nm in twin-turbo. The engine is mated with a 10-speed automatic gearbox.
Last but not the least is the new Mustang which is expected with a 10 speed gearbox replacing its current six-speed unit.
Ford India has recently reported a 39.23 percent decline in total sales in April this year. It must be hoping for increase in sales with the new models.
