Fly Mobile has very aggressive plans for this festive season and they will launch very powerful feature phones by the end of this month. Among them include a 4 inch touchscreen phone, with ARM 9 based chipset, which also features in some of the smartphones.
Talking to The Mobile Indian, Mandeep Chaggar, group product manager, Fly Mobile, said, “We are going to launch three touchscreen phones by the end of this month with 4.0 inch, 3.2 inch and 2.8 inch screen size. We will be using an advanced version of resistive touch technology which will require very little pressure to be applied; this will help us improve the user experience without increasing the price.”
Fly Mobile has a tie-up with N-Star, which makes chipsets based on ARM 9 and above, and according to Chaggar these chips will be utilised for Fly’s future products as well.
The 4 inch display bearing phone with a price tag of Rs 3,990, will be the largest touchscreen feature phone in the country. It will also feature a 2.0 Megapixel camera. Other specifications of the phone are not known. Given the trend we expect it have WiFi and Bluetooth apart from EDGE/GPRS connectivity (only the 4 inch version could have EDGE).
Other two handsets with 2.8 inch and 3.2 inch model will carry a price tag of Rs 1,990 and Rs 2,990 respectively. Both these phones will have N-Star chipset.
All the three mobile phones will have the Nucleus operating system, which is also used by the likes of Motorola, Samsung and LG for some of their feature phones.
