Fly Mobile is planning to enter the Indian tablet market with a very low end tablet priced below Rs 6,000, a company spokesperson told ‘The Mobile Indian’. If Fly keeps its promise this will be the cheapest Android tablet in the country in November, when it arrives.
The tablets’ specs weren’t disclosed. However, the company recently launched a 7 inch Android tablet in Russia, which seems to be the one coming to India.
The tablet, called Fly Vision, is a 7 inch tablet running Android 2.2. The Processor of the tablet is a 600 MHz Rockchip 2818 chipset, and the device has 256 MB of RAM.
It uses a 4000 mAh battery, which the company claims ensures up to 6 hours of continuous work. The tablet has 4 GB of flash memory which can be expanded up to 16 GB via a microSD card.
What’s good is that the tablet can play HD videos, and comes pre-installed with MS Office. Apart from the standard kit of Google applications (Google Talk, Gmail, Google Maps and YouTube), the device is also equipped with other tools.
We know that the tablet supports WiFi. What we don’t know is whether it supports 3G as well or not. It does support 2G (GPRS), which also means that there is a SIM slot that can be used for making calls.
