Apple has partnered with e-commerce giant Flipkart to sell iPhone 7, 7 Plus online in India. Previously it was only Infibeam, which was authorized to sell iPhone and iPad models in India. Under this partnership Flipkart will get the iPhone 7, 7 Plus smartphones directly from Apple. The product micro-site for iPhone 7, 7 Plus is already live on the Flipkart.
As per a report of BGR, “Flipkart will sell across all categories which include iPhones, iPads and Macs. Infibeam, on the other hand, will only sell the iPhone and iPad portfolio of devices.”
The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus smartphones are scheduled to be launched on October 7 in India. The iPhone 7 models will be available in black, silver, gold, and rose gold colors in 32GB, 128GB and 256GB storage variants, where as new jet black color model will only be available in 128GB and 256GB variants.
The Apple iPhone 7 32GB storage variant is priced at Rs 60,000, the 128GB storage variant will cost Rs 70,000, while for 256GB storage model one has to pay Rs 80,000. On the other hand, Apple iPhone 7 Plus 32GB storage variant is priced at Rs 72,000, the 128GB storage variant at Rs 82,000, where as the 256GB will cost Rs 92,000.
Recently, last year’s Apple iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus got massive price cut of up to Rs 22,000.
The iPhone 6s 128GB variant is now available for Rs 60,000 compared to its earlier price of Rs 82,000. The bigger variant i.e. the iPhone 6s Plus (128 GB) will now be available at Rs 70,000. The iPhone SE has also seen a price cut and is now selling at Rs 44,000, while it was earlier selling at Rs 49,000.
Last year, Apple had a hard time selling iPhone 6s and 6s Plus in India as buyers preferred older iPhones following price cuts. Apple would now be hoping the opposite to happen this time.
