If you are among one of those who think that e-retailers usually offer deep discounted items in order to gain market share, here is an eye-opener.
Flipkart, which is undoubtedly one of the leading e-retailers of India, currently selling the Xolo Play Tegra Note tablet at Rs 6,999 while officially Xolo says that the tablet has a price tag of just Rs 5,499.
Curiously, the tablet is not available from any other e-retailer. So does that mean Flipkart is taking advantage of the situation and thus is selling the tablet for a higher price? Or it is just a technical glitch?
When we contacted Flipkart via Twitter, the e-retailer responded saying, “Prices and offers are dynamic and are seller specific. Appreciate your understanding.”
So that mean the seller, WS Retail in this case, is selling device for a higher price? Well here one should note that the tablet has received several price cuts since its launch. It was first launched in December 2013 for whopping Rs 17,999 but Xolo slashed its price several times and now its official price tag on Xolo’s website is Rs 5,499. Infact not so long ago the tablet was retailing via Amazon.in for Rs 5,499.
It is difficult to understand who is at fault but it definitely goes against the brand Xolo.
