Apart from this, the ability to search and like specific content is still present and you still get to choose from 30 million Magazines present.

In the latest update, Flipboard has been finally revamped and introduces new ‘Smart Magazine’ layout the app. One of the most downloaded news portals on Google Play Store, Flipboard has seen a wide user base ever since it was launched in 2010.

Talking about the new Smart Magazine layout, Flipboard will now bring all the news which interests you at one place in an organised layout. One can easily choose the topic in which he/she is interested in and the will then show up the stories related to that topic placed under the selected domain at the home menu. While you can choose a bunch of domains such as News (India), Technology (India), Sports (India), the home menu will only show up to nine smart magazines layout. Further, with time it will learn your reading habits and show up stories which it feels is more relevant to you. Not only this, you can also go ahead and create your own Custom Magazine which actually lets you pick particular stories and add to your own magazine.

Apart from this, the ability to search and like specific content is still present and you still get to choose from 30 million Magazines present.

On the downside, Flipboard has always been criticised for being extremely slow and heavy on the memory. While the new features and additions do help curate some of the issues, but the app is still not fast enough. In the short time we tested out the app, the app sometimes took way too much time to add different smart magazines to the home menu.

While people do tend to criticise a lot more than they use Flipboard, the new update surely brings some nice little features which might attract a bunch of new users.
