You might recall, ChampOne C1 smartphone , that was unveiled (https://www.themobileindian.com/news/19524_Now-a-company-offering-a-smartphone-worth-Rs-7999-at-Rs-501-called-ChampOne-C1) in August this year for mere Rs 501, though the company said that the actual cost of the device is Rs 7,999! Company was supposed to conduct its first flash sale on September 2, but due to some some technical glitches they didn’t conduct the sale. Now the company has again announced a fresh date of November 18 for the sale, from 11:00AM onwards. The sale comes at an opportune time, with the whole chaos around demonetisation and going digital to avoid hardship.
To participate in the flash sale, you have to first register on the company’s website – https://champ1india.com/. But there is a strange catch, while you register for the first flash sale, one has to purchase the Champ1 Clean Master App worth Rs 51 to participate in the flash sale. As of now, only Cash On Delivery (COD) option is available to buy this phone. So is this just a ruse to drive sales of the app in large numbers, while keeping a check on ‘winners’ in the flash sale? we will know on November 18, but don’t tell us you were not warned.
On the phone itself, the ChampOne C1 offers 5 inch HD IPS display with resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and is powered by a 1.3 GHz Mediatek MT6753 quad core processor. It comes with 2 GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expandable via a microSD card. The smartphone runs on older Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system and is backed up by a 2500 mAh Li-Po battery. On the camera front, it has 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and a 5-megapixel front camera.
ChampOne C1 also houses a fingerprint scanner, which is placed on its back panel. Besides, the smartphone offers dual SIM slot, 4G connectivity, WiFi, Bluetooth, and a microUSB port. It comes in white, silver and gold colour options.
