The affordable smartphone is one of the hotly contested segment in India. Earlier this week two smartphones were launched in the segment, namely Karbonn Titanium S200 at Rs 4,999 and iBall Andi 4.5 O’Buddy at Rs 4,990. Here we have compared the two phones on the basis of their features and specification only, and after reading this we are pretty sure you can make an informed decision.
Design & Display
Karbonn Titanium S200 features a 5-inch display with 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) resolution. The iBall Andi 4.5 O’Buddy features a 4.5 inch IPS FWVGA (480 X 854 pixels) display. So if you want a big screen phone you should go for Karbonn Titanium S200 and it offers better display Resolution as well.
Karbonn Titanium S200 measures 14.4x 7.2 x 0.895 mm and weighs 142 grams while iBall has not revealed the dimensions of its phone. So nothing much can compared on dimensions parameter.
Processor & Memory
Karbonn Titanium S200 is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad core processor and 1 GB RAM. For storage, the phone offers 8 GB of internal storage which is further expandable to up to 32 GB via a micro SD card. iBall Andi 4.5 O’Buddy on the other hand is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad core processor and 1GB RAM. The phone offers decent 8GB in-built storage which can be expanded to upto 32GB using a micro SD card.
So in memory department, there is no much difference in storage options but processor wise iBall Andi 4.5 O’Buddy has a higher CPU clock speed of 1.3 GHz than Karbonn Titanium S200.
Battery
Karbonn Titanium S200 has a 2600 mAh Li-Polymer battery which claims to offer Talk time of up-to 9 hours and up-to 650 hours of standby time. While iBall Andi 4.5 O’Buddy comes with 1800 mAh battery with unknown talk time and standby time. So obviously Karbonn Titanium S200 is a better option in this segment.
Camera
Karbonn Titanium S200 sports an 8 Megapixel auto focus rear camera which comes with two LED flash lights and a 3.2 megapixel front camera. The Andi 4.5 O’Buddy comes with an 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and has Panorama, Face Detection, Continuous Shot, HDR and Self-timer camera features. For selfies and video calling, it offers a 3.2 megapixel front camera and an LED flash.
Spec wise, the phones are on the same footing in the camera department but Karbonn Titanium S200 has has a slight EDGE over the iBall handset owing to its two LED flash lights for the rear camera.
Software
Both the phones runs on the same Android KitKat 4.4 operating system. However, Karbonn has promised to release the Android Lollipop update later. Thus, the Karbonn Titanium S200 is the winner of this round.
Connectivity
In the connectivity section, Karbonn Titanium S200 offers 2G/3G, dual SIM, WiFi, Bluetooth and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The iBall Andi 4.5 O’Buddy also offers 2G/3G, GPRS/EDGE, WiFi, GPS/AGPS, Bluetooth, and a Micro USB port.
There isn’t much to separate these two in this round as they have similar connectivity features.
Wrapping up
In terms of specification, Karbonn Titanium S200 looks much better than the iBall Andi 4.5 O’Buddy. However the difference among the duo isn’t big enough to tilt the balance starkly in favour of one.
Much thus depends how they actually perform in the real life which unfortunately we are unable to reveal now. We hope to review the phones very soon after which we can say something for sure about their actual performance.
Meanwhile, you can check their detailed specification here.
