Today, Reliance Jio launched its most awaited 4G feature phone, JioPhone. The phone has got a price tag of Rs 0. Yes, you heard it right one doesn’t have to pay anything to own JioPhone, but it comes with a couple of riders. To begin with, oneneeds to pay a security deposit of Rs 1,500. The amount will be 100 percent refundable after three years.

Can a person who buys Jio Phone get the refund before three years lock in period?
No. One can’t get the refund before three years lock in period.
Does a user need to rechargehis Jio phone regularly for being eligible for a refund?
Yes. One has to recharge JioPhone at least once in 90 days to be eligible for a refund.
Does a user need to pay anything extra for procuring theJio TV cable?
Yes. It will be a stand alone accessory which can be used only with JioPhone, and it will cost between Rs 500 – Rs 15,00. Price has still not been finalised.
When will JioPhone go open sale?
It will go on public sale from the second week of September.
Will it be available in all the retails stores or only in select few?
It will be available across online channels and retails stores from August 24.
At the time of pre-booking does one need to pay thesecurity deposit?
Yes. At the date of pre-booking, one has to pay Rs 1,500 refundable security deposit. Once that is done, the consumer will get a voucher which can be shown to a retailer to get the Jio Phone once it reached the store. In case one books it online, feature phone will be delivered to home without any extra payment.
Can Jio Phone user opt for Jio Prime?
By default, they will Jio Prime members.
How many languages will JioPhone support?
In all 22 Indian languages will be supported.
Is voice assistantJio’s Proprietary solution or is it a Google’s solution?
It is a solution developed by Jio’s team using KIA OS.
Will JioPhone support dual SIM?

Jio users will get unlimited voice calls and data benefits along with access to Jio apps for Rs 153 per month.
The brand has also come up with two sachets, Rs 24 and Rs 54, which include the above-mentioned benefits but for limited validity.
The Rs 24 sachet comes with two days validity, while the Rs 54 sachets come with one-week validity.
JioPhone TV Cable will allow users to connect their JioPhone to their existing Smart TVs to view live TV channels. Interestingly, this also works for CRT televisions as well. The brand has priced the pack at Rs 309 per month.
The JioPhone comes with a voice assistant, which makes it easier to interact with the feature phone. Through the voice assistant, one can make calls, browse the internet and listen to music and more. It also supports the Hindi language for giving the voice command. The device also comes with a host of JIo apps including Jio Music and more.
The device comes with an Alphanumeric keypad, microphone speaker, 4-way navigation and a compact design. The device sports a 2.4-inch QVGA display and it comes with SD card slot as well. Then there is an FM radio, Torchlight, ringtones, phone contact, call history and more.
