Coolpad hasn’t been much active in the Indian smartphone space in 2017. Apart from the Coolpad Note 5 Lite, the Chinese handset manufacturer is yet to throw its trump card. Interestingly, this trump card in the name of Coolpad’s Cool S1 (also known as Cool Changer S1) will soon launch in India. Sources familiar with the development have told The Mobile Indian that the device will hit the Indian market sometime in June. We don’t have a word about the pricing yet but the smartphone is expected to be priced at around Rs 20,000.
If you are not aware, Cool S1 was first launched in China in December, last year. In China, it sells in three variants -4GB of RAM + 64GB of internal storage variant priced at CNY 2499 (approximately Rs 24,402), the 6GB of RAM + 64GB of internal storage variant cost CNY 2699 (approximately Rs 26,354), and a 6GB of RAM + 128GB of internal storage variant priced at CNY 3199 (approximately Rs 31,237). Now, we are not sure if Coolpad will bring all the variants to India or not so we would request you hold your horses, just a bit, as we get close to the official launch.
Recalling the specifications of the China variant, the Cool S1 features a 5.5-inch full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and is powered by a 2.35GHz quad-core Snapdragon 821 processor, along with Adreno 530 GPU. The smartphone comes with 4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of internal storage. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system with EUI 5.8 on top of it. It also houses a fingerprint scanner on its pack panel and has USB Type-C port as well.
On the camera front, the smartphone flaunts a 16-megapixel primary camera with PDAF, dual tone LED flash paired with an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. The smartphone is backed by a 4070mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support. Besides, the smartphone offers 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, a micro-USB port, accelerometer, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor. The smartphone also comes packed with Harman Kardon AKG N18 Earphones. The handset measures 151 x 74 x 7.5 mm and weighs at 168 g.
