Exclusive: Alcatel A5 LED, A7 and U5 HD to launch in India soon, price starts Rs 7,000

Alcatel A5 LED will be launched by end of July or first week of August and will be priced at Rs 14,000, while the A7 and U5 HD will be priced around Rs 15,000 and Rs 7,000 respectively.

Alcatel will be launching three new smartphones including Alcatel A5 LED, A7 and U5HD for the Indian market, Praveen Valecha, Regional Director, Alcatel India told The Mobile Indian, “This year we are launching three devices near Diwali, which are primarily focused on the Indian market.”
He further added that Alcatel A5 LED will be launched by end of July or first week of August and will be priced at Rs 14,000. Alcatel A7 will come with a price tag of Rs 15,000, while the Alcatel U5 will cost you approximately Rs 7,000. All the smartphones will be available on the online channels for 60 days and after that, all three of them will be available for the offline market.
To recall, the Alcatel A5 LED was unveiled during Mobile World Congress (2017). However, the brand will launch the upgraded version of the U5, which it unveiled during the event. Lastly, the brand will also launch a new smartphone known as A7.
Alcatel A5 LED
Starting with the Alcatel A5 LED, the smartphone can be considered as one of the most interesting offerings from Alcatel. The phone comes with a LED covers which just snaps at the rear panel and offers different colour formations of LEDs for different contacts and different type of notifications. One can also select pre-installed different themes of LEDs and setup variety of light shows.
The back panel LEDs can also be synchronised with your playlist through a pre-loaded app, which will blink on the tune of the music you play. Further, there is a battery pack of 3300mAh battery capacity, which can be easily snapped as well.
As for the specifications is concerned, the Alcatel A5 LED features a 5.2-inch HD display with a of 720×1280 pixels and comes armed with an octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor, along with 2GB and 16GB of storage. The smartphone also comes with an option to expand the storage via card.
It runs on 6.0 Marshmallow operating system and is backed up by a 2,800mAh battery. On the camera front, the smartphone offers an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies. Besides, the A5 LED smartphone offers LTE, 4.2, WiFi, and a microUSB port.
Alcatel A7
Lastly, the brand will be launching a new smartphone known as Alcatel A7. The smartphone will sport a 16-megapixel rear camera and will be juiced up by a 4,000mAh battery. The device will sport a 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, Valecha added.
Alcatel U5 HD
Alcatel U5 HD will come with a 5.0-inch HD display with a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The smartphone will be backed by a 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, he said. On the camera front, there will be a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling.
However, he didn’t reveal other specifications, but one can expect a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor, 2,200mAh battery, 4G LTE, Bluetooth, WiFi and will run on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat.
