From Yutopia to Apple iPad Pro, the Indian market saw a lot of new devices this week.

Yu Yutopia

This is the most noted phone to be launched this week and is also the costliest device of Yu, the Micromax’s subsidiary, till date. The phone has a full metal unibody and a 5.2 inch Sharp IPS display which has WQHD or 2560×1440 pixels – the best that is available in a smartphone at present. It also has the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 that offers a 64 bit octa core processor. The Yu Yutopia has 4 GB of DDR3 RAM, thus promising ultra-fast performance.

The Yutopia also comes with a fingerprint sensor. As of now the sensor only allows to lock/unlock the device but going forward, as per the company, it can be used to facilitate payment as well. The Yutopia also offers a 21 megapixel rear camera and an 8 megapixel front camera. There is a 3000 high density battery inside its metal body and with Quick Charge 2.0 feature, it promises fast charging.

Like other Yu smartphones, the Yu Yutopia also runs on Cyanogen OS 12.1 which is based on 5.1. Other than that the phone has 32 GB of inbuilt storage, WiFi (b/g/n/ac), Bluetooth 4.1, micro USB port with OTG support, 4G connectivity and GPS with and support.

Apple iPad Pro

It is the costliest device to be launched this week, with a starting price of Rs 67,900. Its 32GB iPad Pro WiFi is priced at Rs 67,900, 128GB iPad Pro WiFi at Rs 79,900 and 128GB iPad Pro (WiFi+Cellular) at Rs 91,900 for the Indian market.

It comes with a 12.9 inch and has 2732×2048 pixels resolution, Fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating and anti-reflective coating. It comes in silver, gold and grey colours. The iPad Pro has the 64 bit A9X chip and M9 motion coprocessor.

The Apple iPad Pro is armed with an 8 megapixel iSight auto focus camera that has f2.4 aperture, five element lens and Hybrid filter. This camera has panaroma mode (that can capture images in 43 MP), burst mode, photo geotagging and timer mode. It can record slow motion videos at 120 fps, full videos in 30 fps, 3x video zoom and video image stabilisation features.

For selfies and video calls, the Apple iPad Pro offers a 1.2 megapixel front camera with f2.2 aperture. This camera can record high definition videos and it also offers Auto HDR, Burst mode, timer mode and face detection features.

The iPad Pro has a 38.5 watt-hour Li-Po battery that claims to offer up to 10 hours of surfing via WiFi, video playback or music playback while the WiFi+cellular model claims to offer 9 hours of back up for the same tasks. It has the 9 operating system and has Siri voice assistant.

Xiaomi Redmi Note Prime

Xiaomi added the Redmi Note Prime to its Indian product folio earlier this week. Priced at Rs 8,499, the Redmi Note Prime is an enhanced version of Redmi Note 4G with dual SIM slots, 2GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt memory (expandable to 32GB) and a Snapdragon 410 64-bit processor. Redmi Note Prime offers a 5.5 inch HD IPS display, 3100mAh Lithium-ion Polymer battery, 13 megapixel f/2.4 rear camera and a 5 megapixel f/2.2 front-facing camera.

Other than that, the Redmi Note Prime offers Bluetooth 4.0 LE, dual WiFi, MIUI 7, WiFi Direct, USB on the go feature, and dual microphone for noise cancellation.

Micromax Canvas Pulse 4G

The Micromax Canvas Pulse 4G is available through open sale model on Flipkart for Rs 9,999. With this, Micromax has now 14 4G smartphones in its arsenal.

The Canvas Pulse 4G has a 1.3GHz octa core processor (Mediatek MT6753), 3 GB DDR3 RAM and a 5 inch HD IPS display. It offers a 13 megapixel auto focus rear camera and a 5 megapixel fixed focus front camera. The Pulse 4G comes armed with a 2100 mAh battery that claims to offer up to 8 hours of and 300 hours of stand-by time.

Besides, the Micromax Canvas Pulse 4G offers dual SIM, 16 GB internal memory, 32 GB expandable storage slot, Android Lollipop operating system, WiFi and Bluetooth. The handset has a dimension of 70.4×140.8×8.8 mm.

Kult 10

Kult, a new smartphone brand, announced its entry into the Indian smartphone market earlier this week. The company today launched its first product, Kult 10, in the Indian market via Snapdeal at Rs 7,999.

The Kult 10 has a 5 inch display that has high definition (1280×720 pixels) resolution and ASAHI Dragontrail Glass. It has a 1.3 GHz quad core processor and 3 GB RAM with which it should offer a decent performance. The stylish Kult K10 measures 143 x 70.3 x 7.6 mm and weighs 128 grams with a 2350 mAh battery.

The Kult 10 has 16 GB of inbuilt memory and a micro SD card slot of 128 GB capacity. The phone offers a 13 megapixel rear camera with auto focus, F2.2 aperture, phase detection auto focus, 4x digital zoom, HDR, panorama, anti shake, burst mode, manual focus and exposure controls and a flash light. There is a 5 megapixel camera in its front.

The Kult 10 has two SIM card slot – one for a micro SIM and the other for a card. This phone ships with the Android Lollipop operating system but the company has promised Android Marshmallow update for it though it did not reveal any specific date to roll out the same. It has 4G connectivity and WiFi too.

Kult 10 is not the only phone to offer such features. Under Rs 10,000 there are several such phones such as Coolpad Note 3, Micromax Canvas Mega 4G, Intex Cloud Swift, Intex Aqua Super, Xolo Black 1X and the newly launched Micromax Canvas Pulse 4G – all of which offer 3GB RAM.

InFocus M680

InFocus M680 was launched earlier this week at Rs 10,999. The phone is available exclusively on Snapdeal and its sale will begin from December 21.

The InFocus M680 comes with full metal body and has a 5.5-inch Full HD display. It is powered by a MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz and 2GB RAM. It has 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to a maximum of 64GB via a micro SD card.

On the camera front, the M680 has a 13 megapixel front and rear camera. The camera comes with Samsung 3M2 sensor, F2.2 aperture, auto focus, HDR and full HD video recording ability. It runs on runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and supports 4G connectivity apart from the regular connectivity options. InFocus M680 has a 2,600mAh battery unit and supports dual SIM, though one SIM slot is a hybrid one.

Intex Aqua GenX

Priced at Rs 13,299, the smartphone comes in Silver and Champagne colours. The Android 5.1 Lollipop based Gen X has a 5.5 inch display with full high definition or 1920×1080 pixels resolution and Dragon Trail glass. It has a 1.3 GHz octa core processor (Mediatek MT6753) and 2 GB of DDR3 RAM as well as 16 GB of internal storage. The phone comes with a hybrid SIM slot, thus offering two SIM card slots or you can use one SIM card and a micro SD card of up to 128 GB capacity.

Priced at Rs 6,777, the Onida i4G1 is available in Black and White colours and comes with a protective case.

The phones comes pre-installed with Android Lollipop 5.0 and is said to be upgradeable to 5.1 later. This dual SIM smartphone has 1GB RAM and of 8 GB. Besides, it offers 32 GB expandable storage slot and a micro USB 2.0 port with USB OTG functionality. Besides, the Onida i4G1 has Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS with GLONASS, a 2300 mAh Light Lithium Polymer battery and Indian language support.

Microsoft Lumia 550

Microsoft Lumia 550 was the lone Windows device to be launched this week. It is priced at Rs 9,399 and will be available for purchase from next week.

Videocon Z55 Krypton

At Rs 7,999, the Z55 Krypton offers a 5 inch HD display with Dragon trail X glass. It measures 144.6 x 71.8 x 8.6 mm and is based on Android Lollipop operating system that runs on the 1.3 Ghz mediatek MT6753 quad core processor with the help of 1 GB RAM. It offers 8 GB of internal memory and a 32 GB micro SD card slot.

Initially the company will made them available through flash sale via Paytm for just Rs 1. After the Rs 1 flash sale the products will be available at a launch price of Rs 649 (5,000 mAh), Rs 799 (7500mAh) and Rs 999 (10,000mAh) simultaneously. These power banks would be available in red, yellow, blue, black, white colors.
