This week, the list includes three smartphones, one laptop and a smartwatch among the devices launched.

As we move to the final week of 2016, the launches this week reduced significantly. To be precise, this week saw five devices being launched in India including three smartphones, one convertible laptop and a smartwatch. Here we have compiled a list of the devices which were launched in India this week.

Karbonn K9 Smart 4G

The week started with the launch of an affordable 4G smartphone – Karbonn K9 Smart 4G at Rs 4,777. The smartphone is available for purchase exclusively through Snapdeal in Black Sandstorm, Black Silver, Grey Sandstorm colour options.

Launches of the Week

The K9 Smart 4G, as the name suggests, comes with 4G with VoLTE (Voice Over LTE) functionality. Apart from that, it is powered by a 1.2 GHz Quad-Core Mediatek processor along with Mali-T720 and 1GB of RAM. The device runs on 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with Kabonn’s own skin on top. On the camera front, it has 5-megapixel camera on both sides, however, the rear camera comes with an LED flash.

The smartphone features a 5-inch FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) display, a 2300 mAH Lithium-ion removable battery andt 8GB of internal storage,which can be further expandable via microSD card. Besides, the K9 Smart 4G offers Dual SIM, WiFi, WiFi Hotspot, GPS and a port. The handset measures 14.4 x 7.4 x 1 cm and weighs 105 grams.

Zen Cinemax Click

Adding on to the fair amount of success of Reliance Jio, Indian mobile manufacturer Zen Mobile launched its new smartphone Cinemax Click in India at Rs 6,190 this week. The smartphone comes with 4G – VoLTE capability and will be available via both online and offline platforms in Gold colour variant bundled with a Reliance Jio with Jio’s Happy New Year offer on board. Further, the company is also offering a free one-time screen replacement for the first six months.

As far as specifications is concerned, the Cinemax Click features a 5.5 inch (720 x 1280 pixels) OnCell display and is powered by a 64-bit 1.3GHz Quad-Core processor paired with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage which is expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. For the camera, the smartphone from Zen Mobile features an 8-megapixel primary camera with coupled with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. To juice up, the smartphone is packed by a 2700 mAh battery and 4G-VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with etc. as connectivity options.

Apart from textbook specifications, the Cinema Click also comes with pre-loaded Swalekh multilingual keyboard which supports 20 regional languages including Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu etc. Further, the company has also included a mobile tracking feature for security purposes and a special screenshot feature as well.

Acer Spin 7

After announcing at IFA 2016 along with Swift and Predator Gaming laptop back in September this year, Acer launched its ultra-thin convertible laptop, the Spin 7, this week in India. The convertible laptop is priced at Rs 1,09,000 and the company claims it to be the world’s thinnest convertible measuring at 10.98mm of thickness.

Weighing at just 1.2kgs, the new Acer Spin 7 comes with an all aluminium unibody design with matte black chassis wrapping a 14-inch Full HD IPS touchscreen display. The new convertible features silver hinges and diamond cut edges around the touchpad giving a premium look overall. The silver hinges help rotate the laptop up to 360 degrees in any direction enabling multiple modes in which the convertible can be used.

Jumping inside, the Spin 7 is powered by the all new 7th Generation Intel Core i7 processor with 8GB LPDDR3 RAM and 256GB SSD. The thin convertible runs on latest Windows 10 platform and sports a 4-cell 2770 mAh battery which Acer claims can last up to 8 hours of continuous usage. For connectivity, the device comes with 802.11 ac Wi-Fi, Dual USB 3.1 ports for charging and data syncing, reader etc. To enhance the audio experience, Acer has given in Dolby Audio Premium and Acer TrueHarmony in the new Spin 7. There is also an HD webcam with HDR for capturing images as well for video calls.

Swipe Konnect 4G

Swipe Technologies announced the launch of its new affordable smartphone, the Swipe Konnect 4G, for Rs 2,799. The smartphone comes in Black color and is available exclusively on Shopclues. Currently, one can only for register on the e-commerce site for the actual sale which starts from 27th December. Further, as a part of launch offer, Shopclues has also announced Rs 200 off for the first 500 customers who registers for the phone.

Listing out the specifications, Swipe Konnect 4G features a 4-inch HD (1280 x 720p) display and is powered by a 1.5 GHz Quad-Core processor paired with 512MB of RAM. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system and comes with 4GB internal storage which can be further expanded up to 32GB via micro SD card. The smartphone has a 5-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with an LED flash coupled with a 5 megapixel front camera for selfies and video calling. The device is equipped with a 2000 mAh battery and offers Dual SIM, 4G with VoLTE, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, micro USB port and FM radio for connectivity.

ASUS ZenWatch 3

ASUS launched its smartwatch named as ASUS ZenWatch 3 in India available exclusively on Flipkart. The smartwatch comes in two variants, one with the Gunmetal Casing and Leather strap priced at Rs 18,999 and another one with the Silver casing and Rubber strap priced at Rs 17,599. Both the variants are available for pre-order now.

Jumping straight into the technical specifications, the new ZenWatch 3 runs on Android Wear platform and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear 2100 chipset. Boasting a 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage, the smartwatch is compatible with both Android and devices. For the display, ASUS has given in a 1.39inch with a resolution of 400 x 400 pixels. The ZenWatch 3 supports Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi and comes with built-in microphone for call and messaging. There is a 340 mAh battery inside which supports quick-charge which ASUS claims can charge the smartwatch up to 60 percent in just 15 minutes. Moreover, the smartwatch comes with a snap on magnetic charger. Further, the smartwatch comes with water resistance certifications and houses a 6-axis (G+A) and ambient light sensor for tracking physical activities.

Taking care of the customization, ASUS has provided with 50 software watch faces to choose from and can be changed easily using the ZenWatch Manager smartphone app. Not only this, many of the watch faces also comes with customizable widgets which further adds to the information displayed on the watch or you can create your watch-face with the FaceDesigner app. Adding more to it, the top crown button can be assigned a customized action.

Coming to the fitness part, the new ZenFit can automatically count wearers’ steps throughout the day with 95 percent accuracy and can also track a range of activities such as walking, running, push-ups, sit-ups.
