Dell Streak 5 has been discontinued in many countries but still it seems that Dell has some different plans the smartphone. Dell has released the Google Android Gingerbread 2.3 update for the Dell Streak 5 in Korea, giving a new hope to the smartphone owners of other countries.
But as of now Dell seems to have no plans for rolling out this update in other countries as no official comment on the same has been issued as of now. But looking at the things we might expect it to come in the near future.
But on the brighter side, XDA forum has made this update available for the world. So although its unofficially available, Dell Streak 5 users can simply download and install this Android Gingerbread ROM for their devices. Along with the ROM, the XDA forum has also provided detailed help and even compatibility patch for the easy installation of the Gingerbread ROM update.
Meanwhile, Google has denied the possibility of the bigger Dell Streak 7 being ported to the Google Android Ice Cream Sandwich officially. But, Dell has pointed out an unofficial build of the ICS update for the Streak 7.
