China’s top search engine, Baidu is working closely with Dell to launch new tablets and smartphones running Baidu OS. Reuters has reported that the upcoming Dell smartphone or tablet running Baidu OS will be launched in China in November.
Recently, Alibaba had shown their Aliyun OS and the K-Touch W700 smartphone that was backed with the cloud servers based services for China region. This cloud OS supporting smartphone will be sold in China any time this month. Alibaba and Yahoo have closely worked on the handset.
To compete with that, similar join effort will be put forward by Dell and Baidu wherein the focus will be the search based operating system.
Based on the sales as well as the popularity of the said smartphone or tablet, Dell would consider releasing the devices for other countries. Currently the Chinese smartphone and tablet market is dominated by the Apple and Lenovo products. Both these new operating system and ventures aim to earn a significant market share in the China region.
