Uninor seems to be providing best services in the country as the telecom operator has out performed its competitors in India by adding 2.67 million users in the month of October.
According to a COAI (Cellular Operators Association of India), Idea has added 1.64 million users in the month to become the second successful operator — almost a million less than Uninor.
At present, Uninor services are commercially available in the thirteen circles of UP (West), UP (East), Bihar, Orissa, Kolkata, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Mumbai, Maharashtra and Gujarat.
Other GSM operators like Airtel (0.95 mn), Vodafone (0.92 mn), BSNL (0.51) and Aircel (0.49) have also added decent numbers of users to their kitty. Only Videocon registered a negative growth among the GSM operators.
MTNL, STel, Loop, and Etisalat registered very negligible growth, showed the COAI report.
However, Airtel still has the numero uno status with 173.73 million user base in the country. Meanwhile, the report said that there are 625.41 million GSM subscribers in India now by October end.
